Meet John Stech
John Stech started out his first job in a humble Camden, New Jersey sheet metal shop and subsequently built a thirty-year career in the automotive industry. He worked with global car brands on five continents and held senior roles until a 2020 restructuring shifted his direction.
He saw ageism from both sides of the corporate table. He later faced it himself while searching for work, which gave him a deeper understanding of the challenges workers over 50 face.
His own reinvention taught him the modern job search, LinkedIn optimization, and resume updates. He learned to navigate the grief of job loss and rebuilding a new, more meaningful second career. He now shares these lessons through coaching, services, and a weekly podcast.
John works today as a consultant and coach, helping others build their next chapter. He lives in Thailand with his wife.

The Ageism Survival Guide was created in 2025 after John Stech watched many colleagues face involuntary job loss late in their careers. Their stories revealed a growing need for support during career transitions.
Many reached out to John for advice on consulting work and the modern job search. They wanted guidance that reflected real experience.
